Frequently asked questions

A New BPAT course is for individuals who are new to backflow testing and need to complete the necessary training to become certified. A 1-Day Refresher course is for professionals who need to renew their existing certification by reviewing key concepts and ensuring their skills are up to date.

The New BPAT certification course is 5 days and takes place over the course of a week (Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm). The course covers essential backflow principles, testing procedures, and hands-on training to prepare for the AWWA CA-NV BPAT Certification Exam.

For most courses, you will need to bring a notebook, pencil or pen, and any required safety gear (such as gloves or safety glasses). Specific requirements will be outlined in your course registration details.

You can register for our courses through our website or by contacting our office directly. Once registered, you will receive all necessary details about the course schedule and location.

Currently, we offer in-person courses to provide hands-on training. We believe this is the most effective way to learn practical backflow testing and repair skills.

The certification exam is not included with the course. The course is designed to prepare you to take the AWWA CA-NV BPAT Certification Exam. Students must choose an exam date and register directly through AWWA CA-NV. A link to the exam registration can be found here:

Absolutely! Our courses are designed for both beginners and experienced professionals. We provide all the foundational knowledge and hands-on training you need to succeed.

AWWA CA-NV Recertification typically occurs every 3 years. Check with your local water authority for specific requirements in your area.

There are no prerequisites for the 5-Day New BPAT certification course. However, for the refresher course, completion of the 5-Day New BPAT course is required. For our repair or advanced courses, prior backflow testing experience may be recommended.

Yes, upon successfully completing any course you will receive a certificate for contact hours.

Refund/Transfer Policy
Requests for refunds and transfers must be made in writing and are subject to the following conditions: 
A full refund of fees paid will be issued for cancellation requests received more than 10 days prior to class start date. All fees are non-refundable thereafter. 
Transfers to a different cohort are based on availability. Transfer requests may not be authorized if they are not received more than 10 days prior to class start date. 
A 100% refund or credit of your registration fee will be issued if a class is cancelled by Backflow Distributors.
